Subject: Problems at work Hi Lisa, I hope you are well. Do you remember that I started a new job 3 months ago? When I started I thought it was going to be a dream job, but actually everyday has been terrible. I have a manager from hell. He is so intense and demanding. If we lose a sale he can get upset. His aggression can also make it very uncomfortable. I had a performance review last week after 3 months. He didn't say anything positive about my work. I was expecting him to say something nice, then maybe something that I didn't do well and then something nice again. It was very demotivating. My co-workers are mostly nice to me and easy to work with, except one guy. His name is Tom. He is a high-maintenance employee. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he causes so many problems. He's late, doesn't do what he says he will do, and never thanks anyone for their help. He even takes credit for work other employees do. Two people left the company last month becasue he spread rumors about them stealing from the company. It wasn't true, but they hated the stress. I want to go to HR and tell them about the trouble he is causing. I think that it is inevitable that I will quit or be fired because I might lose my cool. Please, let me know if there are any job openings at your company. I wanna quit. Your stressed out friend, John |
